Medium shot = from the stomach/chest upwards, subject centre of shot, little surroundings visible. I believe this type of shot may be the best suited for the front cover of my school magazine, as long as the background is suitable and the lighting is correct. This example is to dark and has a boring unappealing background to use for the front cover of the magazine.
